Fallout 4 Reset Perks

Do you ever feel like you made the wrong choices when picking your perks in Fallout 4? Well, you’re in luck!

You can actually reset your perks and redistribute them however you want. Here’s a quick guide on how to do it.

Can You Reset Perks in Fallout 4?

In Fallout 4, there is, regrettably, no official method to reset your perks. Sadly, there are no more options for consoles, so you guys must have to live with your choices.

Players on consoles will have to create a new character because there is no official way to reset perks in Fallout 4.

However, players on PC can accomplish this using “cheats” [1] in the form of Console Commands, and if they want to tinker with their game’s files, a simple mod can make the work of resetting perks much simpler.

A Perk Reset Chem can also be obtained through a MOD.

Resetting or Allocating Perks using Console Command

Fallout 4’s PC version lets you launch the Command Console at any moment by pressing the Tilde “~” key (it is usually the one on the left of the number 1 key in the top number row on a regular keyboard).

The Console will open once you have entered the key, allowing you to enter whatever you desire. There are many different cheats you can use. You can use the following two commands to get perks:

player. setav (Perk or Attribute Name)

This will increase or decrease the perk level to the one that you have entered in the command. For instance, you would enter “player.setav Strength 5” to raise the Strength perk to level 5.

You can only add or remove levels from locked perks. This command is mostly for adjusting the level of a particular perk that you have already unlocked.

player.addperk (Form ID)

Each perk has a form ID, which is a special numerical identity. This console command can be used to add any perk with a form ID or material ID. For example, to add rank 1 of Iron Fist, you will type “player. addperk 1dafe” into the console.

Always add the three lower levels before adding higher ranks, such as rank 4 of Iron Fist.

Resetting Perks Using Mods

You may download a mod from the Nexusmods website that gives the Chemistry Crafting Station a Perk Reset Chem that you can use whenever you want to get back all the perk points you’ve already used.
