Expansive Adventure Awaits: Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC to Introduce All-Time Starter Favorites

In a thrilling reveal during the closing ceremonies of the 2023 Pokémon World Championships held in Yokohama, Japan, Pokémon enthusiasts were treated to an exciting trailer showcasing the upcoming expansion, “Pokémon Scarlet And Violet: The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero Part 2 – The Indigo Disk.”

The trailer showcased a tantalizing glimpse into the expansive new content, with a major highlight being the inclusion of every starter Pokémon from past generations.

Fans can look forward to encountering all 24 starter Pokémon from earlier games, ranging from the classic trio of Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle to the more recent additions like Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble.

In a groundbreaking twist, these beloved starter Pokémon will be dispersed throughout the diverse biomes of the Blueberry Academy, offering players the opportunity to capture and train them just like ordinary wild Pokémon.

Aside from the starter Pokémon extravaganza, the trailer also shed light on an intriguing lineup of Paradox Pokémon set to debut in The Indigo Disk expansion. Notable among them is Raging Bolt, a creature reminiscent of the Gen 2 legendary Raikou fused with the aesthetic of a Tallneck from the game Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Raging Bolt’s dynamic new move, Thunderclap, promises to bring a jolt of excitement to battles. Additionally, the Cobalion-inspired Iron Crown showcased its distinctive move, Tachyon Cutter, adding to the expanding array of innovative Pokémon abilities.

Other Pokemon Community Updates:

The Pokémon World Championships ceremony also hinted at a revolutionary development—a brand-new 19th type for Tera Pokémon. Although this new type’s specifics remain unsurprisingly, the teaser has left the Pokémon community buzzing with anticipation.

Beyond the game’s core content, the event unveiled updates for other Pokémon ventures. Pokémon Unite, the popular multiplayer online battle arena game, is set to welcome Blaziken, Mimikyu, and Meowscarada as playable characters.

Meanwhile, the Pokémon Trading Card Game is preparing to reintroduce the Ace Spec mechanic alongside the introduction of Paradox Pokémon.

“Pokémon Scarlet and Violet” exclusively grace the Nintendo Switch platform [1]. Players eagerly anticipating this expansion can mark their calendars for September 13th, when the first part of the “Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero” DLC, known as “The Teal Mask,” is scheduled to debut.

With the promise of a nostalgic reunion with cherished starter Pokémon and a host of new features, the Pokémon community is poised for an unforgettable adventure.
