League of Legends Community Divided Over Lux’s Wild Rift Rework

League of Legends players are currently engaged in a passionate debate surrounding the upcoming mini-rework of Lux in the mobile version of the game Wild Rift.

As one of the most dominant forces in the gaming industry, League of Legends has attracted millions of players worldwide to its competitive 5v5 multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA). Riot Games developed League of Legends: Wild Rift for mobile devices to expand its reach to other platforms and titles.

While Wild Rift features the beloved champions from the PC version, some adjustments have been made to differentiate the experience. One such adjustment is a mini-rework for Lux, a character whose changes have sparked concerns among PC players.

Renowned Lux player and Challenger-ranked player, YozuLoL expressed uncertainty about the changes implemented for Lux in Wild Rift and fervently hoped they would never make their way to the PC version.[1

In a tweet, YozuLoL stated, “Lux is getting a mini rework on Wild Rift. I am not a fan of these at all and I hope this never goes to PC (The E change is REALLY bad lol). I personally think Lux does not need a mini rework (for both Wild Rift and PC), her kit is fine as it is. She could get some QoL changes but that’s about it.”

The specific changes in question involve Lux’s abilities. In Wild Rift, Lux’s Q ability will be able to pass through all minions, while her passive and E abilities will automatically activate. These alterations are intended to enhance the mobile gaming experience and make it more accessible for players. However, these changes have generated considerable discussion within the League of Legends community.

Critics argue that these modifications undermine Lux’s gameplay’s skill expression and wave management aspects. The removal of manual activation for Lux’s E ability and the automatic triggering of her passive ability has raised concerns about the diminished depth of gameplay and strategic decision-making.

While some players acknowledge the potential benefits of the Wild Rift tier list, they firmly believe that these changes are ill-suited for the PC version of the game.

Riot Games has yet to confirm whether these changes will be implemented in the PC version of League of Legends. Given that Riot maintains separate balance teams for each game, it is unlikely that the changes in Wild Rift will directly carry over. The community eagerly awaits official communication from Riot Games regarding this matter, as it will undoubtedly shape the future of Lux’s gameplay in both versions.

In the meantime, League of Legends players continue to express their opinions and engage in spirited debates regarding Lux’s mini-rework, with the ultimate hope of preserving the strategic depth and skill expression that has made the champion a favorite among players.
