The physical disc was clarified in a blog post on the official Starfield website dated June 11. Bethesda mentioned that the Xbox Standard Edition of Starfield would include a game disc with purchase.
The statement read, “Starfield Standard Edition is included with Xbox Game Pass. Game disc included with physical purchases of Xbox Standard Edition.” This news relieves Xbox fans who prefer a physical copy of the game.
Meanwhile, PC players will still be able to enjoy Starfield, but they will receive a game code rather than a physical disc. This means PC players can still access the game digitally without needing a disc drive. While this might disappoint some PC gamers who prefer physical copies, it aligns with the growing digital distribution trend and its convenience.
Starfield, first announced at E3 in 2018, marks Bethesda’s first new IP [1] in 25 years which has been eagerly awaited by fans.
