For the gamers out there who have been wondering if they can use their Xbox controller with Steam Link, the answer is yes. You can easily connect your Xbox controller to Steam Link and play all of your favorite games. Here’s how to do it:
Is Xbox Controller Compatible With Steam Link?
Microsoft’s updated Xbox controller now supports the Steam Link. Valve has updated its Steam Link in-home game streaming device, adding support for the Xbox One S controller.
This excellent revision, which feels better, can now be used via USB cable or Bluetooth. You’ll need to connect the Xbox One S controller to your Xbox One or PC to update it, but it should then work as a wireless controller directly through your Steam Link.
This fixes one of the gamepad’s major issues and adds even more options for controlling your PC games on your TV via the Steam Link. Here’s how you do it:

- Start your Steam Link.
- Allow it to update.
- Navigate to Bluetooth in the settings.
- Press the small connection button on the top of your Xbox One S controller.
- Select "Xbox Wireless Controller" from the list of available devices [1].
- Choose it (you'll need an already-connected controller or mouse).
- Wait for the light on the controller to stop blinking.
You’re ready to go. If your connection becomes stuck at “paired,” make sure the gamepad is fully updated. You can also try removing the controller from the list and reconnecting it again.
