Stardew Valley is a popular farming simulation game offering a plethora of activities that keep players engaged and invested in farm life. One such event is the Luau, which takes place in Summer.

Luau Event

The Luau is a community event hosted by Mayor Lewis, who sends an invitation a day before the event.

This event takes place at The Beach on the 11th of Summer, where the Governor and all the town residents gather around a big pot of soup. The event starts once you enter The Beach between 9 AM and 2 PM.

It’s a great opportunity to increase your friendship points by talking to everyone.

Communal Potluck

The Luau’s main attraction is the Communal Potluck. Players are encouraged to add an ingredient, and the Governor tastes the soup and gives a rating. Contributing affects the overall rating of the soup, and determines the quality of the event and its rewards.

With the best rating, the Governor will say that the soup is the best he’s ever tasted. Players are rewarded 120 friendship points with the townsfolk.

Missing Something Response

If the player did contribute, the Governor will say that the soup is missing something. Players receive no rewards.

Secret Outcome

If the player adds Mayor Lewis’ lucky purple shorts to the soup, it results in a humorous outcome.

The Governor will initially like the taste of the soup but discovers the piece of clothing. He’s then disgusted, while Mayor Lewis says he’s ashamed of the community for adding his private item to the perfectly good soup.
