Solution #1: Use sv_consistency_0
If you encounter this error, the first thing to do is to type sv_consistency 0 into the developer console.
This also works well with listening servers. This solution works well for this issue most of the time, and it should fix it. If it does not, you can proceed with the next few below.
Solution #2: Uninstall Hunter Mods
Although mods are very advantageous  to enhance the gaming experience, they can also be why you see the server enforcing consistency for this file.
The best way to do this is to uninstall specific Hunter mods. We expect this to fix the issue of its the one getting in the way of your game. If not, you can try the next fix.
Solution #3: Reinstall the game
Another way to also solve this problem is to uninstall the game. Wait for a while, then reinstall the game. After doing this, you should not run into this problem.
Solution #4: Verify the Integrity of Game Files
If the above fixes do not work, we advise you to verify your game files’ integrity. If your game files are not authentic, you might encounter this problem.
You can do this from the library section. Right-click on the game, then choose Properties from the menu. You’d see the Local files tab, select it, then click on verify the integrity of the game cache. Steam should start verifying the game cache if you follow the process well. This usually takes a few minutes.
Solution #5: Install the Left 4 Dead 2 Add-on Support
You can create maps and other content with the Left 4 Dead 2 Add-on. This will allow players to run in-game after downloading the.VPK file.
To get it, double-click the file to start the installation process. If you run into an error with the automatic process, you can do it manually by copying the.VPK file to the Left 4 Dead Add-ons folder.
