It’s really frustrating when you and your friends are already hyped up during a game, but the server goes down out of the blue. This is especially true when a server maintenance occurs during a tournament on Rocket League.

Is there a way to resolve this? And how? Worry not! Check out this post and let our resident gamers share some effective troubleshooting tips.

Fix #1: Check Official Server Status Updates for Routine Maintenance

Before you jump to the conclusion that this is a server bug, make sure to check the latest server updates and information on Rocket League’s Twitter account. They constantly post updates on server status and maintenance schedules there.

This way, you can confirm if the game is indeed undergoing server maintenance updates and patching [1].

Fix #2: Go Back to the Main Menu and Select Training

You can always go back to the game if the server goes down during the tournament. Here’s how:

  1. On the Main Menu, select “Play.”
  2. Navigate to “Training” then “Free Play.”
  3. Go back to the Main Menu. Select “Play.”
  4. Click “Tournaments,” and it should direct you to a new lobby.

Fix #3: Quit the App Instead of Leaving the Tournament

To make it easier, you can quit the application immediately as soon as the server goes into maintenance.

Then, reload the game, and you can proceed with the tournament. Don’t just leave the tournament unless you’re done.

Fix #4: Wait

If none works for you, all you can do is wait for the server to be operational again, then you can resume the game. There’s nothing much you can do about this issue, as it’s mainly on the server side.

While waiting, we suggest optimizing your internet speed so you can ensure a smooth-sailing tournament as soon as the server is up.

Conclusion

To ensure your win in the tournament, you must note the steps we’ve outlined above. While you can’t really avoid the server maintenance during a tournament on Rocket League, at least you have ways to counter the issue and get back on track. Best of luck!
