Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a complex and challenging game, and one of the first things you’ll need to do is choose an envoy. But with so many options, who should you pick?

While there is no definitive answer, here are some things to consider that may help you make your decision!

Who Should You Choose as an Envoy?

Lander has a +4 stat bonus and is an excellent first regent. The problem is that he’s up against Octavia and Valerie, both of whom are already pretty good at their jobs—and Val has nowhere else to go.

The more compelling reason to take the Surtova lady is that her competition is either a CE character who is completely optional and requires you to do something you wouldn’t normally do, or a guy who leaves at the same time she does, leaving you without a counsellor at a critical time.

The Orc is difficult to sell because his opponents are Amiri and Regongar, both of whom are excellent generals, but he is the only good-aligned general in the game, so he has some unique outcomes that may make it worthwhile.

The Orc is probably the best utility player because he has the best stats, but as a general [1], he has to compete with Regongar and Amiri, who have better stats.
