Minecraft Clay Diamond Trick [2023]

If you’re a fan of Minecraft, then you’ve probably seen the clay diamond trick being performed by some of the more experienced players. But how exactly do they do it?

Luckily, we’re here to show you how it’s done. With just a few simple steps, you’ll be able to impress your friends and become a master at this cool little Minecraft trick. Let’s get started!

Where Can You Find Clay Patches?

Not all of the clay blocks you can discover will yield diamonds with this technique. Swamp biomes’ clay patches are where you must begin. These round (or by Minecraft terms, “circular”) clay patches can be found submerged in swamps.

This technique also works for clay patches in river biomes [1], but it has a better probability of succeeding in swamps.

Try using the /locate biome command if you can’t locate any swamps. You must have cheats enabled in your Minecraft world in order to utilize commands. To use locate biome you just need to open the commands and type:

/locate biome minecraft:swamp

Additionally, you’ll see a notification with the coordinates of the closest swamp appearing. Simply close the distance between your current coordinates by pressing F3 and the coordinates of the biome you wish to visit in order to go there.

Where You Can Dig for Diamonds?

Press F3 to find out where the North is. North will be indicated by the blue arrow in the center (also known as the positive Z-axis).
You must continue counting on the other side of the same chunk if the sixth block north of the Clay patch's center is in a different chunk.
From that block, you may start excavating downward.
Always use caution when digging straight down. You run the risk of suffering a fall injury or finding yourself in a lava lake. For this reason, you can choose to excavate in the shape of vertical stairs.
Simply dig down till you come upon Diamond Ores.
