Is the MapleStory 2 Chinese Server Being Closed?
MapleStory 2 is known as a 3D modernized sequel to one of the pioneers of Free-to-Play games and was once the most hyped PC MMORPG in the world.
However, the global server was shut down in less than two years, with the China server heading the same fate as well.
New-player registrations and premium currency sales have been disabled in preparation for the game’s closure, while the Chinese forums and customer support  remaining open until its full shut down.
Any unused premium currency will have been converted to a corresponding compensation package, which players will be able to use until the servers go down.
With the Chinese version of MapleStory 2 shutting down, the only fully operational version of the game left is the original Korean release, which has been relegated to maintenance mode.
