ARK: Survival Evolved is a popular game that is played by many, but it can be difficult to know how to properly take down wild dinos on a server. Here are some tips to help you get started!
How Do You Kill Wild Dinos on ARK: Survival Evolved Server?
If you’re experiencing server lag and performance issues, a large dino population is to blame. Servers can generate up to 35,000 or 100,000 wild dinosaurs at times, which can degrade server performance.
You can specify automatic population control using settings in the Modify Server Config tool and Advanced Launch Params. To do this manually, follow the instructions below:

- Connect to your ARK server.
- Open the console and make your account an administrator.
PC Users
- Press 'Tab' (default button)
- Type in enablecheats ADMINPASSWORD where ADMINPASSWORD is the value found in Admin Pass in your control panel [1]. Press Enter.
PS4 Users
- Press Options to activate the main menu. Press L1 + R1 + Triangle + Square
- In the textbox, type in the admin password for your server. When done, press Request Access.

- Run the saveworld cheat command. This forces your server to save the world data at that precise time. Allow 10 to 15 seconds for this to finish.
- Run the DestroyWildDinos cheat command. All wild dinosaurs will despawn immediately, and your server will start the repopulation process. This may cause a brief lag and may take up to 10 minutes to complete.
- After repopulation is complete, repeat the cheat saveworld command once the server has shown to be stable.
