Are you playing 7 Days to Die and having trouble getting mushrooms to grow? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Many players have had this issue and there are a few things you can do to fix it.
In this post, we’ll go over some of the most common reasons why mushrooms aren’t growing and how to get to address the problem. If you’re ready to get your mushroom farm up and running, read on.
Mushrooms Not Growing
Mushrooms can be harvested from Mushroom Clumps found in caves and on cave walls. Eating mushrooms will improve the player’s fullness.
Mushroom Spore Seeds can be made from them. Its spore seeds can be crafted and used to plant and grow your own shrooms.

Mushrooms cannot be grown next to each other. If you plant them close, they may never grow and may possibly simply disappear.
They can, however, be planted diagonally next to each other. Use tilled dirt with no sunshine [1], preferably many blocks beneath but at least several blocks away from entrances, windows, or hatches.
If they receive sunlight (even incidental adjacent sunlight), they may take 4x – 5x as long to grow as conventional crops.
