What is the Current Max Level in the Game 7 Days to Die?
The character’s level is a game mechanic introduced in Alpha 11. The player character starts at level 1. Killing Zombies, harvesting resources, using schematics, building, repairing, looting, and making goods all provide experience.
Once you gain ample experience, the character’s level will rise. You start with 0 experience, which places you at level 1.

On the Character Menu, you can see how much experience you need to advance to the next level.
The level cap or maximum level that a player can achieve is 300. At this point, the experience necessary for growth becomes linear, which means that the amount of experience required to go from level 60 to level 299 is 186,791.
What Are the Effects of Character Leveling in the Game?
- Gaining a level grants the player one skill point, which may then be spent on Skills and Perks.
- When the character reaches level 6, the Elemental Protection status effect is removed.
