Recently, 7 Days to Die received a major update called Alpha 20. Many players want to know what this release have in store, so we’re here to share what this update has to offer!
What is Alpha 20?
TFP’s Alpha 20 is by far the most extensive content release yet. This is due in part to them virtually doubling its crew size over the last two years and vastly upgrading its proprietary tools to improve the game and accelerate new content creation [1].
With these significant upgrades, Alpha 20 moves closer to Gold:

- A whole new version of Random Gen World generation that includes new and breathtaking cities, city tiles, and a part system spawner.
- Over 200 new POIs have been added, as well as improvements to several older POIs. There are almost 550 explorable sites in all.
- Many city upgrades, terrain improvements, and new rural and wilderness communities have been made in Navezgane.
- There are about 25 new HD characters, including a few with enhanced shaders.
- 6 new weaponry and 13 HD remakes, including new primitive pipe weapons.
- Overhauled shape menu with hundreds of additional shapes structured and buildable from a simple frame, with support for in-game, creative, and level design.
- Block placement enhancements.

- They've introduced a Robotic Drone Companion that can carry your extra gear, cure you, and do other things.
- The Dynamic Imposter System allows for realistic modifications to POIs and player bases even at great distances.
- Rendering enhancements with hundreds of new PBR models.
- Improvements to quests, including new restore power night quests.
- Improvements to AI enemies include city spawning, ducking, obstacle attacks, head tracking, and burst attacks.
- Feral Sense Game options for an entirely new gaming experience.
- Vehicle upgrades include coop passenger support and mods to help you upgrade and customize your vehicles.
- Improvements to Loot Progression include a new Loot Stage System, Biome and Tiered POI loot benefits and early game balance.

- With the addition of fresh content, the dynamic music and ambient audio system have been improved.
- The Weather system has been improved, with more distinct and varied weather.
- Anti-Aliasing - Temporal (TAA) and AA Sharpening video options have been added, as well as an auto-detection system that will optimize your game settings to better fit your hardware's capabilities.
- To create a more immersive experience, animations have been upgraded from first to third person.
- Some of the zombies have been outfitted with a new dismemberment technology.
- Twitch integration has been enhanced with additional commands, voting, and other features.
- Modding support has been improved with better world editing, level editing, RWG, and Server.XML settings and tools.
